Rikki Butler, ODA Consultation and Communications Executive: Well today we have group of young people that are coming in to talk to us about the designs for the Handball Arena and the VeloPark. The young people that are coming in have an interest in architecture and design so we're really excited to get their views on the different venues and the designs for those venues.
We are starting off with the introduction from David Higgins, the Chief Executive for the ODA, and the young people will break out into workshops and they will look at the plans in more detail and provide their comments on those designs, and then after that in the afternoon we will have a presentation on the VeloPark from the project sponsor. Then we will workshop the designs for the VeloPark. Finally after that we will be making our way downstairs, jumping on a bus and going on tour of the Olympic Park, they can see those venues, where exactly those venues will be and start to see the foundations of the park coming up out of the ground.
The presentation from the architect and the project sponsor went down really well. The young people really liked the idea of the Handball Arena being quite simple on the outside, but then there being lots of light and colour going on inside.
Giselle: The material that they are using, it is just really nice to see that they are going for the natural materials around the whole project. Really really nice.
Lawrence: It is good to see a venue which is fully flexible and adaptable to whatever circumstance that may be needed in the future. It's good.
Corina: The mountain biking around the park area, and I think it will be really good because it will be a nice place to cycle as well, and the actual centre looks like it will be quite exciting because you come in and you get the light coming in and you can see straight in.
