Here we are in Greenwich Park, the most spectacular venue for the Equestrian events and also the modern pentathlon events of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We're working with Royal Parks and other agencies such as Natural England and English Heritage to ensure that there is no long term impact on this park.
We see in front of us the large open area that will be the site of the stadium in 2012. It sits just to the south of Queens house here and up the hill there you can see the site of the Royal Observatory.
It's important to stress that although the site of the cross country course will wind its way through the park and in between trees at times, that there is no requirement what-so-ever to cut down any of the trees in this beautiful park.
Walking through with the main stadium just behind us, we come into these open areas. Come 2012 the area right in front of us will be the site of the training areas, and beyond the road the stabling for the horses.
The flower gardens here are a beautiful part of Greenwich Park, and indeed the course will come through just a small part of it, but the pond just over in this corner will not be used for that cross country course in 2012.
The course will sweep down here into this lovely open area where we'll see a number of jumps themed around London that will be built as portable fences in the workshop environment and bought out and positioned here in the park over a period of just a few weeks on the run up to the Games.
This park is so well suited for the design and development of a cross country course for the eventing competition. The horses and riders will gallop through open areas like this and then pick up the more natural undulations that we see in front of us here.
The playground here is an area that's clearly loved and enjoyed by so many of the children and the families of the Greenwich area. It's an area that we now plan to keep open throughout the Games period, for all bar just a couple of days during that cross country competition.
What we are looking to do in just one small corner of this area down here is to develop a cross country jump which is incorporated into a new children's adventure playground area, so that those kids have got something to enjoy when the Olympic Games has gone.
We're looking forward to working with the community here in Greenwich to ensure that this most fantastic venue is one that tens of thousands of people can come and enjoy in 2012 for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
