Green Britain video transcript

EDF Energy, London 2012 Sustainability Partner, has launched its Green Britain campaign. The first Green Britain day will be held on 10 July 2009. A short film compares the 1948 Olympic Games to planning for London 2012.

King George VI: I proclaim open the Olympic Games of London.

Narrator: It was an extraordinary time. Rationing. Bomb sites. Even the track was made from cinders from people's coal fires.

But people rallied. And somehow the impossible happened.

No one knew then about climate change, but we can rise to this new challenge in the same way. Together.

Narrator: London 2012 is our chance to lead the world in the fight against climate change.

So on 10 July EDF Energy are launching Green Britain Day.
