Back in the spring London 2012 and the Royal Horticultural Society launched a competition to discover two new budding amateur garden designers.
The main launch was at the Chelsea Flower Show. We had a big national launch and national competition for everybody to take place. Chelsea Flower Show was an obvious place to launch it.
Winners had to design gardens that would encapsulate all that's best about the tradition of British gardens, be genuinely sustainable and also refer properly to the Olympic tradition.
Well today the two winners were announced. Thousands of members of the public voted and the two winners fought off hundreds of other amateur designers from all across the country. Today they're taking a tour of the Olympic Park to find out just where their garden will grow.
Right so that's the Velodrome that we're leaving behind us and we're just heading south now...
We have some of the worlds best landscape designers on this project and their skill is, they will take those ideas and work with our two winners and incorporate them into our half acre garden at the north end of the Park.
I like sport and I like designing so it's more that side, but I do a bit of gardening.
There's were over a hundred people that took part in this and Rachel and Hannah will now see their garden take shape up in the north of the Park near the Velodrome and it will become one of the landmarks in the Park forever.
Such an honour, it is really exciting because all of my little bits of dabbling that I've done with garden design in the past. I've still not done my own back garden, it's still not come to fruition so the actual fact that this is actually going to really happen is really really exciting.
