Cynthia Barlow, cycle safety campaigner: Every year about 20 cyclists are killed on London's roads and nearly all of those involve HGV's. A fresnel lens fitted on the side of the cab improves the visibility of someone who is below the level of the window so cyclists, pedestrians and so on will be more visible.
Olympic Park site worker: Without a doubt the lens really helps. You can see clearly down the side of the vehicle and it reduces the blind spots.
Cynthia Barlow, cycle safety campaigner: A lot of people are going to want to work on the Olympics project, and I think it's entirely right that the ODA should say that they've got a good reputation in construction and they want constriction vehicles to also have the same safe reputation.
John Armitt, ODA Chairman: We've all got to share the road at the end of the day and this only costs £4 to buy one of these lens, so really there's no reason why any owner of a lorry should see that it's in his own interest actually. Think how much it costs if a lorry in involved in an accident. So £4 to buy a lens is a very small price to try and reduce the risk of an accident and make the roads safer.
Cynthia Barlow, cycle safety campaigner: The cyclists did so well for us in the Beijing Olympics and we're hoping they''ll so even better for us in the London Olympics. Lets honour them by stopping killing cyclists on our roads.
