
November 2008: From the air the oval shape of the Olympic Stadium is now emerging from the site. It's clear just how far the Olympic Stadium has progressed.

November 2008: This image taken by the Stadium webcam shows the almost complete steel seating supports on the south stand.

October 2008: The first of the steel seating supports goes up. In total 112 of these will go up to support the 55,000 seats within the upper tiers.

September 2008: One of 200 pre-cast concete seat supports is craned into position as the lower terrace seating starts to take shape.

August 2008: The first visible signs of construction on the Stadium were these concrete columns. Hundreds of them are needed to support the podium level seating.

March 2008: After demolition of the buildings on the site, soil levels changed by up to nine metres to create the right platform for construction. This view looking across the Stadium site towards Canary Wharf shows the changing landscape.

September 2007: Demolition of the 33 buildings across the Stadium site gets underway and the largest building comes down.

July 2007: Waste materials including hundreds of old tyres were cleared from the rivers and land before demolition of the buildings could begin.

April 2007: An aerial view of the Olympic Stadium site which at the time was home to light industrial units. All the companies were successfully relocated to enable the site to be cleared.
