Where is it?

North Greenwich Arena 2 will be next to the North Greenwich Arena 1, at the tip of the Greenwich peninsula opposite the mouth of the River Lea. The venue is easy to get to by the Jubilee line of the London Undergound, which also serves the Olympic Park.

Getting ready

The tender for the design of the Arena will go out in 2008 and the tender for construction in 2008/2009. It is scheduled to be built in time to host test events before the 2012 Games.

During the Games

Rhythmic Gymnast with ball
The Arena will have 6,000 seats for spectators of Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics during the Olympic Games and 6,000 seats for spectators of Volleyball (sitting) during the Paralympic Games.

After the Games

After the Games, the venue will be taken down and relocated to provide a legacy facility elsewhere in the UK.
