Olympic event ticket-holders can travel free on Metrolink trams between stops in Manchester city centre and stops near to Old Trafford Stadium on event days. The recommended stops near to Old Trafford football ground are;

National Rail
Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria stations are served directly by trains from principal UK stations.
Bus
There are timetabled bus services which pass close to the venue, however, you are advised to use one of the free shuttle bus services operating between the city centre and the stadium.
Shuttle bus
On match days frequent shuttle buses provide free travel for Olympic event ticketholders near Piccadilly Gardens, at the corner of Portland Street and on Corporation Street, both in Manchester City centre and Old Trafford Stadium before and after events. Coach
Groups planning to travel to the stadium by coach must pre-book a parking space as no coach parking or drop-off facilities will be available on match days.
Park-and-ride
Park-and-ride services will be in operation on match days from three park-and-ride sites. This service is not included in the price of your event ticket, so book your ticket now.

Walking
There is a pedestrian route to Old Trafford from Manchester city centre. The walk is approximately 3.5 kilometres. You can see where the walking route starts and ends on the Transport for Greater Manchester website
Cycling

Accessible travel
Accessible shuttle buses will run between Piccadilly Rail Station and Old Trafford Stadium before and after matches. All Metrolink trams are accessible and have spaces for wheelchairs but mobility scooters cannot be carried. The free shuttle buses between Manchester city centre and Old Trafford are also accessible and can carry one wheelchair but not mobility scooters.

Free London 2012 accessible shuttle buses will run between Manchester Piccadilly rail station and Old Trafford stadium.
Limited, pre-booked accessible parking will be provided close to the venue for disabled spectators who are UK Blue Badge holders or members of an equivalent national scheme. This must be booked in advance
