Tickets are not required for vast stretches of the Road Race route, so spectators will be able to watch for free. This event is expected to see the streets of London and Surrey packed with millions of passionate fans.
The Road Race route has many excellent vantage points close to some stunning and unique attractions. As it's an outdoor event, spectators are advised to come prepared for all types of weather conditions.
Due to road closures, parking suspensions and the large numbers of spectators anticipated, London 2012 is encouraging people to walk, cycle or use public transport to make access to the event as easy as possible. If you live in London or Surrey, try to watch the event close to home. Spectators who are travelling from further afield should book early and stay in local accommodation.
Further information on watching the Road Race, including maps, travel advice and top tips for spectators, will be posted on these pages closer to the Games – so keep checking back for details.
