London 2012 is aiming for 100 per cent of spectators to get to the Games by public transport, or by walking or cycling.
We have improved existing transport links and built new links where
needed – across London and the UK. We have also contributed to
improvements being implemented by our transport partners.
This
work will help tens of thousands of spectators get to and from the Games
each day. It will also provide better transport options, particularly
for people living in east London, long after the 2012 Games.
At
Games time, BP – London 2012’s official Carbon Offset Partner – will
help keep more than 5,000 Games Family vehicles running smoothly with
advanced fuels, low-carbon bio fuels and engine oils. However, all forms
of transport today have a carbon footprint. Which is why BP is offering
to offset the footprint of all spectators travelling to the Games with
its Target Neutral scheme.
