Zoe's nomination story

I have taken part in several fundraising activities - The Disney Princess Half Marathon, raising funds for the Cave Rescue Organisation; The Leeds Race for Life 5k; Organised a Bake Sale with 2 colleagues to raise funds for Cancer Research; held a Ladies Afternoon Tea event raising funds for Cancer Research and Walk the Walk Organisation; London Sunwalk Sunday 24 July 2011.

It is really important to me to be involved with these particular charities/communities as I specifically want to give back for the extra life that I have been given through cancer research and from the mountain rescue - when I was rescued I had hypothermia, fractured ribs and was scalped - I am extremely lucky to be here. I was rescued by the Cave Rescue Organisation and have been fundraising for them ever since, last year meeting the Duke of Kent as one of their major fundraisers. This year I raised £330 and applied for matched funds. My commitment ranged from 4 hours per week at the start of training to 6.5 hours per week as the mileage increased.

Zoe has a real zest for life and looks to participate and contribute both within and outside work. Her contributions within work often go 'the extra mile' and her enthusiasm rubs off on other colleagues who also look to get involved. Zoe is a great role model and ambassador for Lloyds Banking Group.
