Zoe's nomination story

Zoe has also been a keen member of Amnesty International club that runs at Burntwood School. She has campaigned for human rights by writing to prisoners of conscience and to governments regarding human rights abuses. She has also fundraised for Amnesty International through various fundraisers including designing and selling Mothers Day Cards to raise funds for the maternal health as a human right Amnesty campaign. She demonstrated great citizenship skills when she volunteered to pack bags at Sainsburys to raise funds and awareness of Amnesty's work. Zoe is an active member of Burntwood community who took the initiative to contact BBC newsround to raise awareness of the schools building programme budget being cut last year. She lobbied Mr Gove at Westminster and successfully contributed to the programme ultimately going ahead. Zoe would be proud to be involved in the torch relay and it would be a fantastic way to celebrate her achievements as an active citizen.
