Wyndham has single-handedly coached Ferryside RFC juniors for 25 years. Rain or shine his enthusiasm for the game was infectious and he relentlessly encouraged playing at all levels. Almost everyone in the area at some point has played with, or been coached by Wyndham including Welsh Internationals Stephen Jones and Mefin Davis. He has also coached many others to representative honours at junior levels. He led Ferryside to win many tournaments over the years, often against sides from bigger towns. Wyndham was diagnosed with Cancer 18mths ago and the coaching has now ceased. Being a relatively small village and the growing popularity of Football, nobody has been able to take over the mantle of coaching the village juniors. He has never been recognised, locally or nationally for his efforts over the years and I think bearing the Olympic torch would be an appropriate way of achieving this.
