Will Roberts

Will's role at YST includes improving the competition pathway for young people. This culminates in the UK School Games, which emulates and embeds the Olympic and Paralympic values in talented athletes. Will also works tirelessly as a volunteer for Volleyball England. He is President of the Schools and Youth Commission and involved in directing the provision of volleyball for young people in England. Will is also an unpaid coach at Newcastle Staff Volleyball Club (a club he has been involved with from a young age). Here he has made a significant impact on increasing opportunities for participation and improving performance amongst athletes. This is best exemplified by the fact that 19 of his athletes have been called up for national squads or programmes! Because of this, he beat off strong competition to be the Volleyball England High Performance Coach of the Year 2010-2011 and overall Coach of the Year 2010-2011.
