Will's nomination story

William is a modest, personable and charismatic young man. He puts everything into life. He is 2011 SW Schools U17 1500 metres champion; was 11th in the 2011 National Schools cross-country final (one place from national selection); 6th in the 2009 National Schools 800 metres final; and holds the Gloucestershire U15 800 metres record. At school, he holds two athletics records and as Captain of Athletics, continually inspires others to new heights. Intellectually determined (predicted 12A* GCSE), bi-lingual English/French, mastering Mandarin, William always strives for excellence. The respect in which he is held at school and in the community and his plan to become a military doctor, were reflected in his recently being awarded an Army Sixth Form Scholarship. William carrying the Olympic Flame would inspire others in his age group and motivate them, and himself, to achieve national representation, hopefully as future Olympians.I actually got 11 A* and 1A at GCSE this summer. I also won the English Schools Intermediate 1500m and then won the UK schools international meeting (SIAB) U17 1500m, representing England.
