William's nomination story

Looking at Willie Black it is hard to believe that three years ago he was diagnosed with a rare disease. A keen snowboarder and fitness fanatic, Willie was struck down with HLH, an exceptionally rare and often terminal condition whereby the immune system attacks and destroys blood cells. Thanks to a successful bone marrow transplant and gruelling Chemotherapy sessions Willie fought back to full fitness returning to work on the slopes. Demonstrating his gratitude to the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust, and his renewed zest for life, Willie devotes considerable time and effort to raising awareness of the fantastic work of the trust and to organizing fundraising events, including their annual charity ball, raising thousands. Nominating willie presents us with an ideal opportunity to recognise and thank him for his positive contribution to the VION Team and his tireless charity work. we hope you agree that Willie truly is deserving of this amazing opportunity.
