William's nomination story

(Cambria Automobiles PLC) William Anderson has been employed by Swindon Motor Park as a Technician/Workshop controller since 1984. in his spare time he has helped in the local community centre for 28 years as a voluntary/paid youth worker. The aim is to develop character and self-esteem in young people through sporting activities, residential weekends etc. William has also done outreach work with youngsters who do not attend the centre. William is or has been a member of the South Wast Indian Committee Group, the South West Coalition Racial Equality Group and the Stop and Search Steering Committee with the Wiltshire police. He has helped to organise the Swindon West Indian Carnival and has worked on a project with young people entitled 'Street for Living' in the Broadgreen area of its regeneration. William is a keen sportsman participating in athletics, cricket, karate, football and snooker/pool.
