Will's nomination story

Will inspired me to run the 5K Race for Life a few years ago in London & to raise money for Cancer Research. He has been an encouragement & has formed the running club 'Willpower'. Most had never run before. In 2005 he set up a Family Relay Marathon at Ruislip Lido, with medals/prizes. Five have subsequently trained with him & run the London Marathon. He has run 15 marathons himself, mainly London. He has pushed himself hard with a personal best of 2hrs 49mins. In NY, he was 50th British Male in his age category. He has raised thousands for Retinitis Pigmentosa and various Cancer charities. This year he trained & guided his blind friend 'Roo' in the London Marathon - time3hrs 59mins. Will cares deeply about young people. He has supported his 13 yr old nephew through a very difficult time & encouraged his interest in photography, helping him find equilibrium. He has helped to organise & taken part in a local Saturday Drama School for youngsters. He has designed award winning programmes for Ruislip Operatic Society. This year, he was instrumental in organising a street party for the Royal Wedding. It was reported in the Harrow Times. All this whilst running his own small company, and being a husband, and father to a little girl. Will is a fine example of British endeavour and tenacity, and I cannot think of a better person to carry the flame - I know how proud he would be to do this.
