A year of breathtaking foot-racing feats included a world record attempt in fancy dress in the London marathon, 5 marathons in 5 days and her toughest challenge, a 105-mile ultra marathon completed in under 24 hours - all for charity!! Wendy Shaw a mother of 2 young children from Mortimer, Berkshire, raises money for Guide Dogs for the Blind (running as 'Alfie Guide Dog') and veterans charity Project 65. When Wendy isn't raising money she tries to bring happiness to others. Recently her next door neighbour was away tending her sick sister overseas. Wendy took it upon herself to completely 'make-over' her neighbours garden with absolutely amazing results. Wendy is a credit to herself, her children and the local community and a worthy nominee to 'carry the torch'
