Wendy Mcclelland

Wendy is a person who always give her ultimate most for the community. She is a local primary school teacher, inspiring children in the community for over 20 years. She also gives up of her time at weekends to be in charge of the local sunday school and help children there. Recently, Wendy also made an incredible contribution to the community when on hearing burglars were at her mother's house, immediately rushed to help. She caught the burglars coming out the end of the road. She then overtook the car, swung her car around and performed a hand-break turn to block them in. She then showed immense bravery by running to the car and keeping the burglars locked in, despite their explicit language and violent threats, until such time as the police arrived. The area had undergone a serious number of burglaries in the past few months and Wendy's bravery meant that people could now sleep happier in their beds at night and feel safer; as well as the police being able to bring the criminals to justice. The local community is indebted to Wendy for her bravery shown.
