I am nominating my Line Mgr, Wendy because of her exclusive thoughtfulness in doing her job. Among other qualities that filters her to be exceptional and being such an inspiration to the entire team that she leads, is her way of doing things. Just to quote an example, last year I had a tragedy. I lost my 24 year old son whom I had taken to hospital for counselling & whilst my son was in the Rehabilitation Facility, he was punched in the head unaware by a Rehabilitation Colleague who turned out to be mad and my son fell down and died. It would have been a double tragedy if my Line Mgr, Wendy along side with the APM for ORD, James Keegan did not handle the situation with alot of thoughtfulness, tact and proactiveness. Being a Widow, who lost my husband through Carjacking in Kenya, and now loosing my
24 year old son in the USA was the most painful, devastating & draining situation of despair in life that one could ever handle, but my Line Mgr, flew from Dallas Fortworth, came to ORD, just to spent some time with me,took me to Glueckert Funeral Home where my son's remains were laid, helped me finalise my son's body treatment before flying the body to Africa for burial. I have been working with BA for 22 years now, but I have never felt so cared for, treated as an individual and hence as an Internal Customer, I felt, my Line Mgr went beyond expectation by empathising with my situation and did everything to ease my pain - hence nominating her to be an Olympic Torchbearer.
