Wayne Jenkins is the Assistant Operations Manager for Sports Wales. He is also my dad. And my hero. Having spent the last 32 years supporting young athletes and providing the highest level of facilities and equipment available. He has supported and nurtured many young athletes, some of which have turned into a olympic qualifying athletes. Many of the Welsh and GB team that are competing at London 2012 use the facilities where my dad works. He has run in countless marathons and recently took part in an expedition driving across some of the coldest climates to reach the Arctic, with several past paralympic medalists, a challenge he loved. Never one to boast of his own achievements, he is the most giving and loving family man and has always put his children's need above his own. Though his bones maybe getting a little to fragile to break any records, he truly deserves a gold medal.
