Wayne's nomination story

(Yorkshire Water) 2011 saw Wayne awarded the Kelda Group volunteer of the year award for the 2nd time. The award which recognises those who havemade an outstanding contribution to charity was presented for his extensive work with the charity Water Wheelers. However, his involvement does not stop there. He is an also active member of Loop's charity 'heart of loop' which raises funds for local charities and key causes such as Comic Relief. Wayne has organised Yorkshire Water's 'one million green finger challenge' supporting local schools, led Bradford in the community challenges including Caes@Christmas and also makes time for his role as a Kelda area volunteer champion, a role which sees him encouraging and engaging employees who wish to partake in the charity proramme. Over the years, Wayne's commitment and dedication has helped raise thousands of pounds for local charities, all in addition to his day job!
