My Dad is the BEST person to carry the Olympic torch through Taunton. We live there and he was a police man for 32 years, mostly in Taunton. He got lots of special thank-yous from the police because he was very brave and caught bad people and helped lots of children. He found out that he could run really fast in the cadets - 1mile in less than 4minutes!! So he ran in police competitions and he did lots of marathons and half marathons. In the Athens one he got £6000 for charity, and loads more in other runs. He has trained lots of runners in Taunton and he always plays football and tennis and cricket and BMXing and skateboarding with me -I am 8 and my name is William. In the coffee shop in our village which is a charity he has helped to give £35000 to charity in the last 5 years. PLEASE let him carry the torch. He is my best dad.
