Vickie's nomination story

In May 2011 the team took the opportunity to participate in the Lloyds Banking Group Day to Make Difference by offering to spend a day gardening & painting fences at Acorns Children's Hospice. We found out that Acorns is not a sad place in fact it is quite the opposite. Children go to Acorns to live, the activities arranged for them & the respite care offered to families is phenomenal. Since that day the whole team have worked together to raise funds for this cause which serves our local community.

I think this nomination should be successful because our achievements have been a complete team effort. Behind every success there is always a great team and that is what we have demonstrated.

I have nominated our team leader Vickie to be a Torchbearer as she has encouraged, motivated and supported us all. I quote from Lloyds Banking Group intranet The Olympic Flame generates pride among people in their local community . Vickie is 40 in 2012 and I know she would be extremely proud to carry the Olympic Flame and it would be a memorable experience for her. I know she would be carrying the Flame for all the Olympic hopefuls but also for the children who have been cared for by Acorns & those that will pass through Acorns door in the future.
