Uche's nomination story

Uchenna has been consistently supportive in the development of youths in GSK Nigeria Community and a Children's home we support. He also personally provides motivation and direction to youths through motivational talks and counselling sessions in schools.

Uchenna Antony Uwechia ("Uche") has had a long history of interactions with youths. An officer of the Boys Brigade (of the Anglican Church) in his secondary school days, he has been involved in youth-related activities for over 20 years now.

In 2006, Uche was a key member of a non-governmental organization, C-TRANET, which organized a week-long regional programme involving over 300 tertiary institutions in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Liberia and The Gambia on a campaign against drug abuse and examination malpractices.

For over 10 years, Uche has been involved in organizing and speaking at annual conferences involving students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria focusing on academic excellence and moral rectitude with annual attendances of over 10,000 participants.

Over the years, Uche has been involved as a motivational speaker and seminar leader speaking to youths on goal-setting, aspirations, excellence in academic & life as well as overcoming obstacles to success and breakthroughs.

In 2011, Uche spoke to over 1,500 students of the Ilupeju & Estate Grammar Schools, Ilupeju, Lagos on Born to Win, challenging them to rise above their limitations to excel! CR
