Tracey's nomination story

Hockey is a big sport in Cockermouth, for boys and girls and men and women. 8 years ago when Cockermouth got its astroturf, Keswick Hockey transferred to our turf and from then on, due largely to the efforts of Tracey Harrison, hockey has never looked back. Monday nights sees teenage boys and girls and the women's 1st team at training. Tracey is there to collect practice fees. Tuesday nights chidren age 12 - 14 train for an hour. Tracey is the co-ordinator and coach. Thursday nights it's the turn of the 5 - 11 year olds. Again, Tracey runs this. On the weekends Tracey is a supporter of her own teenage children, Emma and Ben, as they play their games, often away as far as Durham, Leeds and Manchester. If there are any children's matches for the club, she is the organiser and coach. The season runs from August to May, so for 5 days a week, 10 months of the year, Tracey lives and breathes hockey. As Treasurer of the hockey club she is charge of subs and membership, and attends all committee meetings. She also arranges the End -of-Season Do and any other fundraising nights. We (all 220+ of us) at Keswick Hockey Club just want to say 'Thanks!'
