Toon Heylen

Heroic sports performances require heroic supporters, and Toon is one of those heroes who want to encourage their own sports heroes in a fitting manner. To cheer on the Belgian athletes in the Tour de France upon their arrival on the Champs-Elysées, he stepped on his bike to go all the way from Antwerp to Paris. After four days in the pouring rain and the scorching sun, with risky cliffs and steep climbs, he was ready to welcome the Belgian cyclists on Paris' most beautiful boulevard. Toon sees his nomination to carry the Torch as a tribute to all of his sports heroes.
