Toby Jones

To all intents and purposes Toby is a 'normal' teenager, attending his local comprehensive school, but what makes him special is his dedication to local sport, which makes him an excellent representative of all the positives that Sport brings to young people in our area. Young people often get a negative press, and here is someone who can present a different series of images - entirely relevant to the Olympic spirit that will inform 2012. Toby is involved in School and Community Cricket and Football teams. His involvement is not primarily about personal achievement - he is the lynchpin of these teams, and embodies the team ethic that they are built around. He is consistently their 'player of the season' reflecting his effort, attitude and commitment to teamwork. A young 'man for all seasons' in fact, and a de facto torchbearer for local sport.
