Timothy Jones

Timothy always champions young people. At 24 he is probably the youngest chair of school governors in the country. The state comprehensive secondary school of which he is chair includes in its catchment area some estates which are home to many poor and disadvantaged families. So, whilst many his age spend their evenings socialising and relaxing, Tim attends governor meetings, training sessions and strategy meetings to help ensure the school can operate to provide the best possible educational opportunities and pastoral care for its students. He has been coaching tennis to youngsters in his own time for nine years, getting them involved in a sport about which he is passionate. He speaks up on behalf of children and young people whenever possible, trying to ensure they have a voice in today's society.
