Tom's nomination story

In the summer of 2009 my father had an accident in which he managed to set himself on fire. Thanks to the Kent Air Ambulance my father managed to make it to intensive care and survived. My brother Tom wanted to show the Kent Air Ambulance how grateful we all were by rasing money for them through his voucher book 'bluebook'. This helped local communities in trade and the profits went to the kent air ambulance. Not only this, our football team organised a charity game to raise additional funds for the air ambulance. This was Tom's idea again and he was the driving force that made it so successful. Over 800 people turned up. The work put into the charity game was developed into a film by Tom, editing the entire film himself, and has been shortlisted for film festivals and features on imdb.com . He raised over £8000, hero.
