Thomas's nomination story

Tom is not only my father but my hero & best friend. We lost my mother 10yrs ago to cancer after a long struggle were his example was second 2 none & only last yr my sister died, never once has he complained or given up being the wonderful man that he has always been. There has never been a time when I have felt I could not approach him with a problem or worry & he has always done his best to help anyone that he could or give any advice he could & if it was something he didnt know he'd seek out someone who would. This year my father will celebrate his 78th birthday & he still works at least 3 days a week in Craigavon hospital as a porter a job he went back to volunterally basis about 6 months after mum died. From time to time I meet other hospital staff & they only have positive things to say about the job he does & the man he is. I believe dad deserves this chance because he never asks for anything & this would be a chance to show him that he is a champion who we all love, respect & find to be a great source of inspiration.
