Tom's nomination story

Sport is really important to me. I play football for two teams (Wokingham & Emmbrook (Sunday) & Woodley (Saturday)). I also play cricket for Eversley CC , North Hampshire District & my school. For Eversley I play for the U14s and last year started to play regularly for the adult teams. In my Geography lessons we are studying the 2012 London Olympics & we have talked about the seven Olympic & Paralympic values. I believe the values are a great set of principles to follow as they help you, not only in the Olympics and Paralympics, but in life generally , trying to be as good as I can be, enjoy competing, but also showing respect to others whether I do well or not. Both in junior and adult sport I have experienced examples of winning the right way and winning the wrong way and I know which feels better. I know that being part of the 2012 Olympics is a once in a life time opportunity and being a small part will inspire me to stay true to these values now and in the future in sport and in life.
