Thomas started swimming with the Beau Sejour Barracudas from the age of 8. He is still swimming today at the age of 23. The dedication and discipline he has shown has been an inspiration to the younger swimmers in his club. Thomas was away from the island for 4 years while he attended University of East Anglia and the conduct he demostrated while he studied and trained hard earned him a first class honours and a place in the commonwealth team last October in Delhi. Thomas has represented the island of Guernsey at the Island Games and the last two Commonwealth Games.Thomas is now back in Guernsey full time and will be trying out for the Olympics in March. I am always being told by other parents what an inspiration he is to the young ones, they look up to him and he is a true role model. I think Thomas would be honoured to be carry the Olympic torch when it is in Guernsey.
