Thomas's nomination story

2012 is Thomas' time to shine. Thomas, 18, has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This means all his muscles are affected in his body and he is life-limited. He has been in a wheelchair since he was 9 and he is ventilated at night but this has never deterred him from living life to the full. He is currently at college studying for his A Levels and hopes to do a degree. His two main passions in life are music and photography and he does everything he can to enjoy them. He composes music, which he has performed with the RPO, at Guildford cathedral and at Grant Bovey's and Anthea Turner's Summer Ball. Thomas is also a great ambassador for a local children's hospice service, Shooting Star CHASE, where he receives care. All in all, Thomas is someone you want to be around. He's positive, inspiring, caring and makes great conversation. Thomas also enjoys sport especially cricket & was particularly proud to represent his school at Table cricket at Lords & gain his GCSE in PE.
