Mina's nomination story

Mina Welsh has been an avid athletics fan since she was 15,she attended her first athletics meeting at 18 at Crystal Palace and has been going to meetings all over the world ever since.Her first major event was in 1992 for the Olympics in Barcelona and has also been to Canada,Spain,Italy,Portugal and Germany for indoor and outdoor meetings. She registerd her interest for volunteering for the olympics as soon as she found out that London had bid for the 2012 olympics and has since become part of the county events team in suffolk which was set up as a 2012 legacy project to prvide volunteers for one off events in the region . Mina was diagnosed with depression 2 years ago and has bit by bit put her life back together and has found a way to deal with this,her passion and interest in athletics has helped with this.She is a true friend and has a heart of gold,she is always thinking and doing things for others.She is turning 40 in July and i couldn't think of a better present than to carry the torch.
