Teresa Deacon is a stalwart of our community who, despite having a full-time job, works unstintingly to improve our home town of Walthamstow in East London. She is a key player in Walthamstow Village in Bloom (London in Bloom's Best Urban Community 2009 & 10) and is a member of our local gardening club that has made this success possible. She is a volunteer Street Watcher for LB Waltham Forest and as such reports street problems she sees when on her morning run. Teresa is ultra-fit and runs in half marathons raising money for charities such as the Blue Cross. She also manages to cram in yoga and aerobics classes. Teresa is part of the local residents' association and runs the kitchen at fund-raising events. I haven't got space to list everything she does - Teresa is absolutely wonderful; she is kind, modest and hard-working - Walthamstow would be a poorer place without her input.
