Terry's nomination story

Terry has worked in public service since the age of 16. He left the police force after 30 years service and for the past 18 years has worked as the Community Fundraiser ast Wakefield Hospice. Tery has always endeavoured to keep the hospice as a charity at the forefront of the Wakefield communities hearts & minds, making them feel that it is 'their' charity. Patient focus is never a thought away from him and he even arranged for the well known horse DESERT ORCHID to visit the hospice garden party. His dedication and enthusiasm for his work never wanes and the tremendous support he receives from the Wakeield community is testament not only to his organisational ability but also to his sympathetic approach when seeking financial support. In the last five years he has raised over one million puonds as well as a vast amount of gifts in kind.
