Tegan Young-Blackman

Tegan is a great kid she has 2 mums (she is a donor inseminated child) and has been subject to bullying it has never phased her and she is proud of her background as well as her mums and we are proud of her. To be honest and she is the first to admit this she isn't brilliant at sport but throughout her school life she has always tried her hardest and her best even though she rarely or never wins she is the first to say its not the winning its the taking part and trying thats important this is what we have always told her and she herself believes in. Tegan can sometimes feel a little different from other kids and it would be great if just for once she could win at something sport related that we can say to her that all her effort that she has put into sport has finally paid off. Over the last couple of years we have had some tradegy to deal with her Grandad died suddenly her other Grandad has had cancer and a close family friend who Tegan was due to be bridesmaid for got cancer and commited suicide instead of Tegan feeling sorry for herself she decided to do the 5km race for life and ran it to boot something we as parents felt incredibly proud of. Thank you taking the time to read this we understand that your selection process must be really hard but i would love you to consider Tegan who i know would be so so proud to do such an honoured job.
