Sue's nomination story

Sue has been incredibly brave after the tragic unexpected death of her son David at the age of 16. David died suddenly of an undetected heart defect, he loved sport in all its forms, and had returned home from a kick boxing session on the 13th December 2005, complaining of a racing heart, this was the only symptom that he mentioned, little did Sue know that would be the last evening that she would see David alive.

Sue returned to work and has also campaigned for the charity associated with David's death. Cardiac Risk in the Young. (CRY) which offers ECG screening, Bereavement Support & Extensive research into these tragic untimely deaths that take the lives of 12 apparently fit and healthy under 35 year olds each week in the UK alone.

This opportunity would give CRY visability and Sue the recognition she deserves for the tragic circumstances of her son's death and how she has continued coping through her grief.
