We nominate our daughter Sue who lost her precious son our grandson aged 19 from cancer. Whilst he was in hospital it was obvious that there was little support for the teenage cancer sufferers. After Paul died it became Sue's mission to remedy this. MacMillan were consulted and Sue was told that it would need £132K to fund a nurse for 3 years to care for adolescents. With a small team of people she set out to achieve this target which was reached within 2 years but she continues to organise fund raising events. The fund has now reached nearly £200K. Events have included concerts supermarket bag packing charity runs parachute jumping coffee mornings golf days etc. This year Sue takes part in the Great North Run. Many young cancer sufferers have benefitted from her efforts and through her fund raising activities many companies friends and individuals are now aware of this specialist service.
