Mr Woodburn has worked at Aston Fields for four years, and works as a Year 5 form teacher as well as teaching: Director of KS2 English, Maths, P.E and HSSE (History, Geography and Religious Education) Throughout his career at our school, he's recieved outstanding performance from the headteacher and works to, not only support pupils and support other staff, but also inspire everyone at school, especially in sport. Despite so many attributes, including a love of music; singing in school choir and playing several instruments, Mr Woodburn is, and has been since birth, deaf, something he will not let pull him down. Outside of school, Mr Woodburn is also involved in many clubs including: skiing, runnning, swimming, tennis and football, which has also meant him taking his team to Bolton. His good will and friendly nature has pushed him to help those less fortunate them himself, when he travelled to Zambia to help build orphanages. He has recently suffered the death of his father to cancer just before Christmas and was faced with his mother struggling with breast cancer. He never fails though, to make everyone laugh, walk into school with a smile on his face and continue to spread his positive attitude to everybody around him. We all really believe he deserves to take on this role and the whole of Aston Fields is behind him.
