Stuart -one of the nicest, most genuine people you can meet. Born with a hare-lip and cleft pallet and bullied in school, he has turned into a popular, well-respected and useful member of the local community. Stuart is heavily involved with the work of the Royal Lifesaving Society and as a Trainer Assessor he attends twice-weekly Wells Life Saving Club sessions. He also takes on the role of a Mentor to newly qualified trainers and assessors in Somerset. He was on the Somerset Branch Committee for 20 years but has withdrawn as his Dad is ill. Another of his major interests is the Somerset is the Somerset Guy Fawkes Carnival circuit and he is a member of one of the major Bridgwater Carnival Clubs - Ramblers. As a club member Stuart gives a huge amount of his time to building a cart, performing in a 2-week stage show and helping to raise the £20,000+ needed to compete in the circuit at a high standard He was club secretary for around 10 years. Stuart is one of the most popular members on the Carnival circuit and has never forgotten his carnival roots which were outside of Bridgwater and has maintained links with some of the smaller clubs from outside what is seen as many as the Home of Carnival. Professionally, Stu is Assistant Manager working for Somerset Leisure at 2 school based dry-side sports centres.
