Stuart's nomination story

Stuart Lambie MBE has been role model and mentor for hundreds of children in the Isle of Man and for the Foxdale Community for over two decades. Awarded an MBE in...... for services to the community, Stuart has spent 27 years as headteacher of Foxdale Primary helping children achieve their full potential through sport and music. A keen sportsman all his life, Stuart encouraged children of all ages and all abilities to partake in football, athletics and swimming by promoting small schools competitions and friendly matches. Similarly he fostered children's love of music by preparing the winning team for The Guild Music Making Competition annually. Perhaps most important of all, is his selfless work with the senior citizens of the village organising a monthly get- together held in school. Stuart is an outstanding caring person who has selflessly committed his life for the benefit of others and deserves to carry the Olympic torch for the Isle of Man. Please NOTE: Stuart lifelong friend STEVE HIGGINS has also been also been nominated. He was a keen sportsman and is suffering from Motor-Neurone Disease. Stuart is keen that Steve should be nominated ahead of him but would greatly appreciate being able to push his wheelchair if successful. Similarly if Steve does not live long enough to hold the torch then Stuart would run with pride in Steve's honour.
