I served with the Royal Air Force for 22 years, leaving to join 'Civvie' Street in November 1998. On November 4th 2009 I joined weightwatchers and weighed 21 stone 3 pound. Today I am 14 stone 7 pounds. This year I have completed the Sheffield Half Marathon, Grimesthorpe Half Marathon and I am registered to participate in the Great Eastern Run and Poppy Day run, both in October. All to raise money for Help for Heroes. I am have also volunteered to rasie money for the Soldiers Charity buy 'shaking the bucket' at my local Tesco store in October. I am enjoying giving something back and supporting our forces people. But most of all, I am enjoying the delight that my 11 year old son exhibits whenever I finish an event and I hand my medal over to him to thank him for his support. The drive to raise money for charity has healped me be the best posisble role model that I could ever be.
