Outstanding young person, a role model of the chinese community. A Radio presenter for Spectrum Radio Chinese programme, motivated to improve communities and promote integration. A olympic ambassador for Waltham Forest, steven has volunteer since the age of 12. Previously, Steven has been ask to become advisor to the Youth Citizen Commission, to assit and help the previous Government to engage with young people and encourage them to play an active part in British society. In 2008, Steven joined the BC Project , an all-party organisation engaging and integrating British citizens of Chinese descent into politics. At the age of 19, Steven stood as one of the youngest candidates in the European Parliament Election. In 2009, Steven received the prestigious Princess Diana Award for his work in the community. He is the first British/Chinese known to be given the honour. In 2010 Steven Cheung has been selected by the Canadian government to attend MY SUMMIT 2010, an official youth summit being held alongside the G8 and G20 summit. In which Steven has met with the newly elected Prime Minister David Cameron to dicuss social, political and economic issues from a young person point of view. In 2011, Steven have just been selected to attend the Asia youth summit to represent the UK in India. Steven has also become the Cultural Ambassadors for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference 2011.? We fully support Steven to be nominiated to carry the Olympic Flame.
