Steven Basing

Steve has spent 4 summers working with special needs of all ages. 1 summer helping teach and build a house in Kenya and works in a school.bring about a positve change in the world. I hope to pursue a career in Human Rights law and through this medium help prevent abuses both on a local and hopefully one day global scale. My work in Kenya where I saw people suffering widespread neglect showed me the dangers of ignoring human rights whereas in contrast my four summers working at a special needs camp in the USA showed me how treating everyone as the unique human being they are can bring about positive effects in both their lives as well as the lives of the people they come into contact with. I have seen also seen the positve effect of sport on people suffering watching the pride my special needs campers took in participating in the special olympics.
