Coach Sterling Muschett is the most inspirational coach and role model in London. Coach Sterling has coaches hundreds of children across primary and secondary schools in South London, runs after school clubs and a Saturday team in Peckham. Coach Sterling believes anyone who has commitment, passion and drive not just for basketball, but for life will exceed boundaries set before them. Coach Sterling sets high standards both off and on the court but gives children and young people the tools and means to reach those standards and beyond. He has lead many teams to victory in many basketball tournaments across London and trains the older players to be junior coaches and work alongside him. He's the only person I know who can ask (not tell or demand!) his team to attend a practice session at 7am during the school holidays and they turn up! He is amazing. He is a Godsend not only to my son but everyone who is coached by him. My son joined basketball late in life, but it has now become the one most important aspect of his life and this is ALL due to Coach Sterling. He helped my son who was suffered discriminated to build his confidence to a point where my son has one of the highest Maths scores in his school. Seeing Coach Sterling Muschett carry the Olympic torch would be an honour for him and the children who he has taught and it would give him something we, the parents could not; To represent London. To be a part of the Olympics. To represent the future champions to come. I run basketball sessions 5 mornings a week all year round with players playing from 6am - 8.30am, this is during school time and during holidays also aswell.
