Sophie Carrigill

I have worked with Sophie (who is 17 years old) for almost one year. Sophie was involved in a serious road traffic accident in 2010 and she is now a full-time wheelchair user as a result of the injuries she suffered. Sophie has always been passionate about sport; before the accident Sophie was a competitive dancer. Sophie has not allowed her disability affect her enthusiasm for sport. Sophie has overcome many barriers this year and her determination has been truly inspirational. I would like to nominate this young person not only because she is fanatical about the Olympics, but because of her courage, drive and spirit, which is an inspiration to us all.
