Simran Vedvyas

Simran Vedvyas is a young, enthusiastic student that collected 1000 pairs of shoes for patients suffering from Diabetes in Africa and Middle East. In 2010 through her campaign "Connect for Diabetes", she successfully collected over 1500 pairs of shoes in less than a month; sent and distributed the shoes to a Centre in Eldoret Kenya, Africa. She took help of her school to collect used and new shoes from the entire school community and so in July 2011, she dispatched another 1500 pairs to Uganda. Simran also excels in school and is the winner of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance 2009 and Sharjah Educational Award 2008. Simran is a role model and she inspires not only the students but also the adults with her initiatives and drive.
